QUOTE Basically every major Hyundai dealership in town received one Genesis Coupe. They were all the Grand Touring V6 so I didn't really have a choice on what to test drive. Naturally I went to the dealership that was closest to me and had the 6-speed version as opposed to the auto.First impressions:The car looks awesome in person. The exterior's lines flow very well and I was especially impressed with the rear. The front is still growing on me, but I could definitely see it looking better with a lip kit. The Grand Touring comes with the 18" wheels which look decent, but I think the 19's will fill out the fender arches a lot nicer. I'd love to see a photochop of my 19" SSR GT3's on the Genesis Coupe. The interior also really impressed me. The car I test drove had brown leather. I'm not crazy about brown, so I'd definitely opt for black leather if I were to get the car. The sunroof is a very welcome feature - I missed having one in the Z. I know the Z's roofline doesn't quite allow for the placement of a sunroof, so it was nice to see it fit the Coupe. All of the interior features are very well spaced out. The push-button start is convenient and the iPod integration is great as well. The trunk release and gas door buttons are located on the driver's droor; it took me a few seconds to find them. Speaking of the gas door, it is located on the driver's side - which to me is more convenient that the Z's passenger-side placement. The trunk definitely has space over both the 350Z and 370Z. The back seat is small but can still fit two smaller people (girls!) pretty comfortably. When you need the extra trunk space, the rear seat can be folded down. Finally the test drive. I should point out that both times I test drove it, I had 3 people in the car total. The acceleration is very smooth and comparable to that of my HR's, possibly a tiny bit slower. My butt dyno is due for its calibration though (no gay comments plz). I definitely liked the feel of the shifter as I was rowing through the gears. It didn't encounter any resistance and was very smooth. The redline came rather quickly at 6500 rpms as opposed to the 7500 on my Z. The electronic fuel cutoff at redline is felt very sharply - the Gen Coupe does not allow for overrevving. There is a button to turn off traction control - or so I thought. After shifting at redline and realizing that the traction control was on I decided to turn it off to see the difference. I was a bit disappointed to find out that the button does not turn the tcs off but rather just reduces it by 20% - or so my sales rep told me. Either way, turning "off" the tcs does not work. When shifting at redline the car still bucks and refuses to allow the tires to slip whatsoever. I was actually told that Hyundai pulls out the tcs fuse for their drift/burnout demos. Perhaps that's what I'll have to do in order to break the tires loose if I get the car... The car has power but it doesn't sound like it. It would definitely benefit from a true dual exhaust, both to open it up a bit and unleash its acoustic fury. In stock form it seems like a very civil car, one perfectly suited to take your mother to dinner in.The handling was nice from the little I got to experiment with it. The Grand Touring does not come with the upgraded suspension or the Brembo brakes that are on the Track version. Through the few twisties/corners I was able to take it on, the car handled very well. The body roll is about the same as that of my Z. Again though, I did have two other people in the car with me.Overall I was very impressed. Impressed enough to consider ordering a 3.8 V6 Track in Karussel White. For now they are nowhere to be found, but I was offered to leave a $500 deposit for them to order one for me. They only offered me $16k for my Z (2007 Enthusiast with 30k miles) so I told them no go. I'll keep looking though, this car definitely feels like a winner to me and I am seriously considering replacing the Z with it.

QUOTE Hyundai plans to bring the Genesis Coupe to Europe with the number of units limited to a modest 1000 units! With its 310 hp Genesis Coupe, Hyundai will not be breaking any sales records in European market, but will be building up on its image. European Genesis Coupe production will be limited to modest 1000 units per year. “Likely we wont make any profits with the Genesis Coupe, but the vehicle will do wonders to our corporate image” told Rafael Agullo, general manager of product planning at Hyundai Motor Europe. While the US market gets both, a V6 and four-cylinder power, Hyundai revealed it only plans to sell the car with a less potent, turbo engine in Europe. Still, the 2.0L turbo packs enough power to move the vehicle from 0-100km/h in a pretty decent numbers.Pricing has not been confirmed just yet, but we have learned that the Genesis Coupe will be priced around 25.000 Euros in Germany, which seems like a very attractive pricing, especially when compared to its main European rivals from Nissan (Z370), BMW (3-series coupe) and Audi (TT) each starting at above 30.000 Euros.http://www.hyundai-blog.com/index.php/2 ... europe/Auf deutsch:Hyundai will für Europa lediglich 1000 Stück pro Jahr bauen, man erhoffe sich von dem Modell keine großen Gewinne, aber ein besseres Prestige.Leider wird man keinen V6 zu sehen bekommen, nur der Turbo-4I soll hier verkauft werden, und zwar ab Preisen von 25.000 Euro.Schade, kein V6 ... dann werde ich wohl einen 370Z kaufen müssen ...
